About Me

Sajid Sami Chowdhury—known as Sami—is a versatile CNN Academy Fellow based in Chittagong, Bangladesh. He excels in cultural journalism, where he weaves together society, arts, entertainment, culture, and heritage into cohesive narratives.

A leader in multimedia and event strategy, Sami led critical coverage for major civic moments, including the 2024 July Uprising. He leverages his experience as the Founder of The Common Run and a former Bureau Chief to drive public discourse.

An accomplished cultural producer, Sami orchestrated Chittagong’s first open-air hip-hop event ("Beat Lobon Vol. 1") and was featured as a freestyle rapper at TEDxYouth@CCS. He views storytelling as a form of advocacy and intellectual resistance in both media and civic life.
